Adjectival: The crevice in the crook between the beat and the burst. Filling it or not (and how) become ontological questions. To hear the choice before it's made. To listen to time, each tick a cosmos, the whole a hole. Holey music. Cosmic music of the here and now. Hear and know music.

Biographical: Joseph Adamik has played in many bands and projects including Califone and Iron and Wine. He released his solo album Super Low in 2016. Michael Lenzi and Seth Kim-Cohen made music together from 1994 - 2002, in Number One Cup and The Fire Show. Since then, Michael has released 6 records as Resplendent, 3 as Lenzi, and 2 as Tough Solar. Seth records as names_of_music.

Historical: bed with ambulance/police light on top is a reunion of sorts, as Adamik, Lenzi, and Kim-Cohen all played on The Fire Show's final album which was recorded & mixed by Brian Deck, who mixed and edited these recordings. But this is hardly a nostalgia trip. The new music bears only a faint resemblance to other things the trio have done. Instead, this music exists in the spaces between their tastes and approaches, ranging from Can-type kosmische musik to no wave skronk, but touching at its extremities electric Miles, Adrian Sherwood's dub experiments, and Phil Cohran's frankiphone hypnosis. Lenzi's lyrics and singing are the wild card, adding vocals to music that otherwise might be instrumental. Hope that helps.
